Taxes

Sorry I haven't written anything in two days(like anyone reads or follows this) but I couldn't really figure what to write about then it hit me when I though about getting my paycheck from my minimum wage part time job today.
Taxes
I'll write about taxes
Sooooooooo lets being boys and girls (this is going to be fun =p)
Welll around this time people start to get anxious and worried about filing their taxes. Well even though I'm a part time high school worker I am too, the way this country handles taxes I would be worried.
When you work you usually look forward to getting your paycheck the one thing that sucks is that when you get it, depending on how much you get, the government usually takes out a good sum of it. Usually people just glance at this, grumble about the government and then cash their check so they can get their money.
Well I'm going to look into this further.
I took a buisness class last year and one of the only things I got out of this was their weird government rule that if you own a business you HAVE to pay your workers minumum wage.
Weird huh?
I'm going to sidetrack a little and tell you why I HATE minimum wage.
Lets say you own a business and your name is Derrick
Its a lawn care business
Derrick's Lawn Service
So you have yourself and 5 other workers
You open for business and the government tells you that you ahve to pay the workers minumum wage which was $5.85
OK sounds good, you can do that.
So you get off to a slow start then business gets booming
Really booming
Then the government says you now have to pay your workers $6.55
Since its during the summer (minmum wage went up in July) you can afford this.
Then winter hits.
No one really can or wants their lawn treated
On top of that theres a economic crisis that has started.
Now you can't afford your workers and have to go out of buisness because you can't afford to keep them.
And I thought the government is suppose to the helpful
.......
People say that if we had a economy in which minimum wage did not exist then people would get paid dirt.
Well actually mud
Haha just kidding
No but really
See everything is competitive and since this is a free country(everything except the markets) if Job A can only pay you $5.75 and Job B can pay you $6.15 then your probably going to go with Job B. Its kinda like shopping.
If store A charges $1.50 for a loaf of bread and store B charges $.75 for a loaf of bread then your usually going to go with store B.
See if you think about it this way then your going to see why minimum wage sucks. If the government starting telling store owners what they had to charge people for certain items, a lot of people would be pissed off. But everyone is used to minimum wage so they never think about how its hurts small businesses(which are 99% of our economy) and helps the Meg-Lo Marts(guess which show I'm referencing and you win) which are the other 1% of the economy.
See we are wise and smart people, if minimum wage didn't exist then we could reasonably talk about what the price to pay our workers kinda like how you try to always talk down a salesman when trying to purchase a car.
What does this have to do with my paycheck and my taxes welllllll
See with taxing our paycheck the government is really making us get paid less than minumum wage, so their breaking their rule.
Let me do the math
I get paid $6.55 last week I worked 12 hours.
12 times 6.55= $78.60
The government then continued to take $9.31 out of my paycheck which left me a total of
*drum roll*
$71.29
now divide this by 12 and lets see how much I really am getting paid and if the government is really keeping their promise
*drum roll*
I am getting paid $5.90 an hour. 65 cents less then minimum wage. So then you US government.
Anyways how I would handle taxes.
Everyone gets to keep their whole paychecks no taxes decducted
But depending on how much you make a year you have to pay anywhere from 10%-15% of it to the government.
Oh another thing about taxes that I find is extremely stupid
If you file your taxes the government can find that you under paid.
How the hell can you under pay your taxes if you don't even voluntarily pay them??!!!
Thats just another bullshit excuse by the government to try and get more money out of us.
Honestly, if you are taking my money and seeing my paycheck before I see it, then atleast take enough out.
Well theres nothing I can do about it, I'm just a high school kid.......
Tonight I'm hanging out with my friends,
Work tomorrow at 7 in the morning,
These weekends have no point if I have to get up earlier than I usually do during the week for school to go to work
Oh well back to my less than minimum wage job(hehe)

Please Read and Comment, Even Follow if you Like....

Well I am new to using this site and I was poking around last night, just seeing what blogs came up, and came across this one with cool animation(good job on the monk by that way) and accidently hit a button and subscribed to a random person's blog?

After I got off I thought to myself, thats kinda a creepy thing to do.

So if you happen to stumble across this or are reading this right now, sorry I didn't mean to, nice job on the animation and no I'm not one of those creepy 40 year-old guys looking to meet teens on the internet.

I swear.

Anyways, I kept reading about the site and it kinda came to me that the whole follow feature is to help you follow random blogs you find along your way. Pretty cool and creepy in the same way. I'm not really a nosey person but if people are willing to talk about their lives I'll be willing to listen, they're probably have some neat stories that will be really interesting......

Anyways about my day,

went to school, that was OK kinda boring

then work, usually really good because a lot of my friends work there but today I got stuck dealing with really mean and rude customers(I'm a bagger at a grocery store)

OK making a long story short, I was pushing in some carts and some lady in a green truck didn't see me and hit me, and said it was my fault, well pedestrian right of way woman!!

Anyways, a lot of you are probably thinking that I'm forgetting something and I'm not

Congratulations Barack Obama for being the 44th president of the United States and the first african-american one

Haha sorry about the cartoon, I had to I didn't like either John McCain or Barack Obama, I really liked Ron Paul, but thats a different discussion another day

Night Everyone

Cardinals In Superbowl???!!!

Well ladies and gentlemen, the superbowl is only two weeks away and there have been quite a few suprises during the playoffs.

For starters the two #1 seeds lost (The giants and the titans)

The cardinals made it all the way to the superbowl, after being in the divison(the NFC west) that was the laughing stock of the NFL. Note that the cardinals were the only team to finish about .500 in this divison the whole season. This division consists of the Rams, Seahawks, and 49ers, who all had less then impressive years not to say the least.

Talking about the 49ers, I am very happy they made Mike Singletary a head coach. He is a good Christian man who had a lot of enthusiasm on the sideline and every game you see him on the sideline wearing a cross, which i respect a lot. Anyways back to the cardinals......

Usually if your not a fan of the favorite you root for the underdog, an example of this would be last year's superbowl between the Giants and Patriots. I guarantee you there was more Giants fans in the stands than Patriots fans. Well I am not going to follow the crowd this time and I have to say that i want to see the cardinals fail horribly.

Why you ask?

Well I am a panthers fan. I was born in North Carolina and lived there for thirteen years, before moving to Georgia in 2005. As you might know the Cardinals beat the Panthers in the Divisional Round of the playoffs pretty bad. We lost 33-13 at home, which we had been 8-0 all season and the Cardinals were on the east coast where they were 0-5 all season. I;m not usually a fan of blaming the loss on one person but in this case I have to. I have to blame the loss on Jake Delhomme, our QB. After the game I was confused and frustrated on why they didn't bench him at half. By that time he had already threw three picks and fumbled once. He then went on to throw two more picks during the second half. So when your QB throws 5 INTs and fumbles youor team is destined to fail, also we didn't get the ball to Steve Smith, our por bowl wide out the whole first half and I was mad at that to, its not like the Cardinals were putting Troy Palomalu( I know i spelled that wrong and I'm too lazy to look it up) on him. There best corner is Dominique Rogers- Cromartie who is a rookie, but Smith had been going up against better pass defense this year so it shouldn't have been a challenge and/or a concern.

Anyways, enough of talking about the past.

Today I went bowling with 6 friends. Theres this place thats like 20 minutes away it has laser tag, bumper cars, an arcade and bowling. I didn't bowl so great because the last time I bowled was during the summer so i finally got warm about halfway during the game. I ended bowling something like an 85, yes I know, that not that impressive, but like I said before, its been a while since I bowled. We only played one game which kinda sucked because I needed a chance to redeem my self, oh well. Laser tag was fun except everytime we played it there was about 2000 little kids in there that would jus pop out of nowhere and I was afraid I would be running and trip over them and/or fall on them, which would've resulted in a mom or dad getting very pissed, which would've something I would not wanted to deal with.

Ugh school tomorrow, atleast I only have 1 more year of high school and them its off to college!
